ACTIVITY ORIENTED TECHNIQUE TO DEVELOP SPEAKING SKILLS OF THE ENGINEERING STUDENTS

Abstract

Speaking is considered as one among the four important skills of language. It is a way of expressing one’s ideas and thought process. It involves tone, body language, accuracy and relevant word choice. To get command over these a student is expected to practice more. Being a language instructor and with an intention of enhancing the speaking skill in a student, we should implement certain concepts that help student to comprehend the required knowledge besides create interest. In this connection, to get the required outcome, activity-oriented technique assists the faculty successfully. This paper aims to discuss certain activities with which the speaking ability of an engineering student can be enhanced. Students who pursue engineering have been taken here as sample as they are expected to have effective communication skill in the real time once they pursue their course.
